Mission is to develop community leaders through action-oriented environmental
Education.

We
Use the increasing interconnectedness of the world to connect communities and tackle
Issues such as sustainable agriculture, environmental restoration and
Leadership development. Thousands of high school and college students are
Involved in year-round, hands-on projects in California, Nicaragua and Ecuador.
Focusing on common ecological concerns faced by young people everywhere, we are
Building powerful community-to-community connections.

GSE students are
Young, action-oriented leaders who contribute to projects in their own
Community and practice international grassroots relations by traveling and
Collaborating with their international peers. We connect them to the larger
World, expose them to unique cultures and new ways of thinking, and also
Empower them to bring what they’ve learned back to their communities. Exchange programs are reciprocal and each year selected
Students from each local community in Ecuador and Nicaragua travel with
Scholarships to the United States to support student-led grassroots initiatives
In California.
